Anniversary milestones are a funny trope in the record-making business. A lot of them are just marketing ploys (except for ours — ours are NEVER marketing ploys). And others are surprisingly meaningful.

Like how it's the 10th anniversary of Floating Points first full-length album 

This one snuck up on us, and has made us a bit sentimental. (That's all we'll say about that.)

We were pretty proud of this record (still are): Sam (Shepherd) had already made a name for himself, but this showed his breadth as a composer —broken beat, spritual jazz, krautrock, revered by the critics, earning one of the highest scores that year from Pitchfork, back when that still meant something.

It was also the music that Pharoah Sanders first heard by him (before it was released), which set the foundation for their later collaboration.

You can get the 10th anniversary edition in black, with a new bonus track on Side B (“Precursor”).

 of Elaenia (in Horizon), which comes with the EP Kuiper (in Waterfall), all in a hand-numbered gatefold jacket — while supplies last.

A lot has happened in the last 10 years, but this record still kills.
