This past Sunday marks the anniversary of Pharoah’s passing, and on Oct. 13 of this year, he would have turned 83 years old. Over his birthday week, Luaka Bop and The Harvest Time Project will honor him in New York.

 on Thursday Oct. 12 from 6-9pm, will feature a conversation with Bedria Sanders, Tisziji Muñoz, and writer Andy Beta, who covered Pharoah’s work for many years.
