A DEZZI A SAA
THE WHEEL OF DESTINY

Here we are
Like madmen
Constantly worrying the question:
“But just who are our enemies?”

Whoever finds his brother in trouble
Hastens to make it worse
By snatching the bread from his mouth!

You, the passenger,
You with the wisdom of experience,
Remember the old saying:
Your most bitter enemy is- your brother.

From the beginning of time
He has betrayed you
And if he could, he would trample you underfoot,
His heart is so filled with venom.

Here I stand, between two serpents,
And they think I am
The victim they’ve dreamed about.
The moment I shrink from one,
The other strikes.

Give me the strength, O Lord,
To fight this crazy world!
