| Iconoclast Paulo Bragança takes the long-buried roots of Fado,
Portugals national song form, and, with contemporary sensibility,
brings them to the fore. Rhythmically invoking Brazilian styles,
flamenco, ambient and hip-hop, Amai was a huge hit in his home country. Their feelings arent young,
their ideas arent young, Bragança says of todays Fadistas.
The original Fadistas were far more punk. |
